The Innovation and Design Center
After extensive renovations, the 1.4 million square foot Innovation and Design Building, located in Boston’s Seaport District, is now home to a dynamic mix of companies and industries. The eight-story building with expansive floor planes, high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows
is like no other property in Boston.
Originally, selected to perform the initial window replacement work on the building in 2014, Patriot was rewarded for their performance as a key contactor in a massive building-wide restoration effort. Patriot provided all scaffolding access, performed over 30,000 square feet of concrete repairs at window perimeters and facades, installed new perimeter sealants on over 900 windows and installed an elastomeric waterproofing coating to the building’s facade.
The $14 million restoration project, which also featured the removal of the West elevation granite façade and the design and installation of over 400 linear feet of GFRC cornice cladding, was completed on time by October of 2017.
